The Long Beach Museum of Art is located on a magnificent bluff site overlooking Long Beach Harbor and the Pacific Ocean. The campus includes the historic Elizabeth Milbank Anderson house and carriage house (built in 1912), oceanfront gardens, and a new pavilion with two floors of expansive gallery space for changing exhibitions. The historic buildings are home to administrative offices, the Museum Store and Café. In addition to changing exhibitions, the Museum offers extensive educational programs for children and adults, musical programs, festivals, and other special events.

El Dorado Nature Center El Dorado Nature Center is an 85-acre wildlife area which includes two lakes, a stream, and 2 1/4 miles of trail through grasslands and forested areas. Home to foxes, opossums, skunks, insects, turtles, and birds, programs include a variety of science discovery tours keyed to the California Science Framework, as well as free "Movable Museum" outreach programs. These programs include "Paws and Jaws" - a hands-on look at North American mammals, "Acorns, Sea, and Sage" - a discovery lesson about the first people of Southern California, and "Protect our Watery World" - an exploration of non-point-source pollution and how action at home can protect aquatic wildlife.

The history of this National Register site spans 1500 years. The 7.5 acres are comprised of six agricultural buildings (including a working blacksmith shop), four acres of award-winning gardens and a sprawling adobe ranch house (built c.1800). Rancho Los Cerritos A visit to the 1844 two-story Spanish-colonial adobe is a step into the past. Rancho Los Cerritos echoes Long Beach’s rich history from a sprawling ranch to a modern, urban society. Once part of an early Spanish land grant, the 27,000 acre Rancho Los Cerritos evolved from cattle ranch to sheep ranch to private home before becoming a City museum in 1955. Now a National, State and Local Historic Landmark, the Rancho offers workshops, lectures, educational programs and tours of the historic ranch house and gardens. The current 4.7 acres of landscaped grounds include trees from the mid-19th century, historic roses, exotic vegetation and the old water tower. The site also features a Visitors Center, Museum Gift Shop, California history reference library and picnic area. Open: Wed-Sun 1PM-5PM Free Admission
